Travis + Felica - Portland Pre-Wedding
I had the pleasure of spending part of winter this year shooting some amazing couples in the U.S. I have to say though, that of the half dozen shoots I had, this was by far the most adventurous! I had no doubt that at some point I was either going to drop a camera in the freezing glacial waters that pour down from nearby Mount Hood, or break a leg climbing (and falling from) the two-story high log jam in the gorge.
If you know your geography, you'll have probably guessed that this was shot in the Pacific Northwest of the country. Specifically, this is part of the Columbia River Gorge, just a short hop outside Portland, Oregon. I lived in Portland for about 12 years, and have such a love for the natural beauty this part of the country offers.
After driving 30 minutes out of the city, you find yourself surrounded by some of the tallest waterfalls in the country, dense fir forests, and stunning gorges and valleys. This location is Oneonta Gorge, and I cannot recommend you making a stop there if you ever find yourself in this part of the world.
Travis & Felica recently became engaged, and gave me the honour of making some beautiful images with them to celebrate their announcement. These two were so much fun, and so willing to climb, crawl, scale, or swim (yup) wherever I asked them to!
Trust exercise #1.. go climb that pile of trees!
Travis is actually a real life rockstar, fronting the band The Adio Sequence. If you're ever in the U.S., be sure to catch a show!
